I'm leaving for Israel (Tel Aviv) in 2 days, I've seen the news. IS it safe?

I'm supposed to be leaving for Tel Aviv, Israel in 2 days time. I've seen the news over the past few days. Will I be safe in Tel Aviv? How close am I to the Gaza Strip where all the fighting is?
