My hanging flower baskets get aphids EVERY year. I can't stand them. I get the green, black AND red ones.?

I spray a mixture of dish soap and vegetable oil on them but it is temporary and ends up making a sticky mess. Ladybugs do the job when they come to visit and hatch eggs on the leaves but my homemade concoction deters the ladybugs. Any other tried and true solutions?
