An afterthought to this year's NFL season...?

My question goes all the way back to the beginning of September, when the postponed Houston Texans/Baltimore Ravens game was rescheduled during the 2 teams' off week and the NFL ruled that week 2 would therefore be their bye week. Back when the ruling was made the Texans were, well the Texans and the Ravens were 8 months removed from a disappointing 6-10 record not to mention the fact that at the time the role of starting qb was a big question mark coming between an underachieving first round pick (Kyle Boller) a 2nd year undersized scrambler with very limited playing time (Troy Smith) and a rookie qb from a small Div 1-AA school (Joe Flacco) and because of this I seriously doubt that the league thought that either one of these teams would be in the playoffs let alone one of them going one loss away from the Super Bowl. Now the question is does anyone think that had the NFL forseen one of these teams as being a playoff contender would they have rescheduled the game for another time and kept the teams' bye week open?
