Can you eat the white waxy mouldy stuff around Weichk�se? (Soft cheese)?

I just bought some (they don't seem to have cheddar), cause I thought it would be nice (it has pepper in it, i like pepper), but it's surrounded in white waxy mouldy stuff. Can i eat that?
